Foundation accepts matching donations

-

The Troy Foundation is accepting matching donations to organizations that benefit residents of Troy through the new Love Where You Live Fund. The fund was established using $100,000.

The fund allows donors to contribute through the fund to any non-profit organization providing services to Troy residents. Those wanting to help address needs of a nonprofit or nonprofits can make a gift to the fund. Eligible contributions will be matched and forwarded to the designated organization in the donor’s name. Gifts are tax deductible.

The foundation fund will match these types of gifts: to qualified, non-profit organizations serving Troy and having a 501(c)(3) designation; tax deductible organizations without a 501(c)(3) but serving residents (such as the library, county park district, city schools; programs operated by a church that serve local residents and are non-denominational; and gifts to existing funds at the foundation as long as the fund purpose is to benefit Troy residents and is not donor-advised.

Gifts of up to $1,000 each will be matched to eligible organizations. A maximum of $5,000 per donor will be matched by the foundation. The matching gifts will be made on a first-come basis until program funds are depleted.
