The family entertainment complex plans to open a second location this year,
The chief executive of Scene75 E ntertainment C enter in Vandalia plans to open a second location this year.
Jonah Sandler,who heads the group of investors that launched the $ 5 million family entertainment complex at 6196 Poe Avenue in July 2012,said he is considering a location in M ilford on Interstate 275.
“It is something that we would hope to have in place,if all goes well,by the third quarter of 2015,” Sandler said.He declined to disclose his partners in the new venture.
The new facility will have a “similar model” to the 124,000-square-foot entertainment complex in Vandalia,but is likely to be 10 to 15 percent smaller,Sandler said.
Sandler opened Scene75 with local investors in a former Roberds Furniture Warehouse on Poe Avenue.
The entertainment center features arcade games,miniature golf,laser tag,indoor gocarts,bumper cars,4-D motion theaters,a bouncing arena,a 150-seat restaurant,two fullservice bars,and a snack bar.
Scene75 complex had a “strong holiday season,” thanks to growing consumer confidence and students being on holiday break,Sandler said.
“We are trying hard and we certainly have a group of passionate people who are interested in seeing us grow.It’s nice to see,especially coming from just an empty building, to turning it into something productive,” he said.
Scene75 has more than 400,000 visitors annually and 150 employees ,according to the company’s 2013 Brass Ring Awards application to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. That year,Scene75 won the Brass Ring Award for best public relations program.
Sandler also operates C haos Room,a 7,000-square-foot venue with an interactive gaming theater,game arcade and party rooms in C enterville.
