Woman suspected in two local bank robberies

- By Malik Perkins Staff Writer

Franklin and Huber Heights police are searching for a woman they say may have robbed two banks in less one week.

Franklin police said they received reports of a robbery just before 10 a.m. Monday at the Union Savings Bank on 104o E. Second St. Surveillance video of the robbery shows a woman between 25 and 35 years old entered the bank and hand a teller a note demanding money, according to police. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and took the note with her, police said. She wore a scarf over face and had a hood pulled over her head to conceal her identity.

Surveillance video from a robbery at a PNC bank in Huber Heights on Friday shows a woman with a similar disguise handing note to a teller and demanding money.

Police have not confirmed if they are the same suspect, but the two departments will work together to solve the crime, officials said.

“This case is still in it’s infancy,”said Franklin Police Chief Russ Whitman. “We are going to investigate everything fully and hopefully put this person behind bars.”

No one was harmed during the two robberies.

Police are looking for a black vehicle that could be a Chrysler 300 or an older model of a Cadillac.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Franklin police at 937-746-2882.
