WE NEED RELIEF

-

Ridley is going to have a meeting Jan. 23 to provide tax relief for eligible senior citizens for other rubbish fees. That’s the least of our worries. Our worries are the school taxes. That’s the big one. Give us some relief there.

ALL ABOUT NANCY

If you think the fight over the wall is about the wall, you were very naive. Nancy doesn’t care about that wall. All she wants to do is make Trump look bad for political gain. JEANETTE J.

ISN’T IT AMAZING

I find it absolutely amazing the way that right wingers think. They don’t care that they’re in the minority and that the majority of the people in the country want no funding for the wall. They are telling the rest of us that the wall is going to be built whether we like it or not. This kind of thinking is ridiculous. This is supposed to be a country where majority rules.

FACT CHECK

I would like to respond to “Civics 101.” I do not think that the president is asking to build 2,000 miles of wall. Basically he’s asking to extend the wall in certain sectors to make it more difficult to cross the border. Sections of the land that don’t warrant a wall can be reinforce by additional sensors and use of drones and other methods. Pelosi is not negotiating seriously. This is basically obstructionist behavior. Also remember that back in 2006 Pelosi and Schumer voted for the border fence act to have a lot of money for border security and now all the sudden they do not want it. Why, why, can you tell me why? God bless United States.

WHAT A DISGRACE

How can anybody vote for a man like Trump? Look what he’s doing to the working people, holding their pay and everything else. It’s a disgrace. That’s what the Republican Party is all about. All they care about is what they want. That’s the definition of the Republicans.

TRY SOME DIGNITY

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is at it again, running around with her mom looking for Mitch McConnell. Does she realize how she’s making a fool of herself? She’s making it hard for the new Democrats who are in office. Someone please help her and give her some advice on how to act. Maybe she acted like this when she was a bartender in New York but now she represents our country. She has to be more dignified.

WHO WILL PAY?

Donald Trump said that we were going to have a border war and that Mexico was going to pay for it. Only the truly stupid believed it at that time and now even they know that Trump was lying about making Mexico pay for the wall. Are they mad at Trump or at the Democrats because the Democrats won’t appropriate billions of taxpayer dollars to pay for a wall that was supposed to be paid for by Mexico? This is the illogic of right wingers. BOB FROM SHARON HILL

TURN OFF

Yes, I agree with “Too Many Commercials” in today’s Daily Times. Cable shouldn’t cost anything, for what we’re paying the watch commercials. I was watching “Everybody Loves Raymond” and I counted 13 commercials at one time. It’s nothing but a big rip off and we shouldn’t have to pay the watch all these commercials.

BURNED UP

I’m still just watching all this nonsense and they showed picture after picture of the guy in the White House. There’s always people sitting behind him. Here’s my question to these people. Years from now, when it’s determined that he was the worst president ever to come down the line, all these people are going to have those pictures up on their wall so that their grandkids can see them with the worst president ever. “Hey, look at me with Donald Trump, sitting behind him with a big smile on my face.” I know I’d burn every picture in my house with Donald Trump.

REMEMBER WHEN

This is in reply to “Too Many Commercials” in today’s newspaper. I also watched TV in the ‘50s,

‘60s and ‘70s and this is

2019. When all these commercial come on, go get something to drink or eat. Go to the bathroom. Remember, back in the ‘50s, we only had three channels — 3, 6 and 10. By the way my family had the first TV on our street. All local TV went off the air at midnight with a test pattern.
