Bernadette Leigh Kozak, age 35, passed on December 7, 2018, after a long courageous battle with synovial sarcoma. She is survived and loved by her parents, Lucy (Lasz) Kozak and Christophe­r Kozak, sister Nicole Kozak, brother Christophe­r Kozak, grandmothe­r Dolores Kozak, her niece Lyla Osborne, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends that comprised her extended family. She was an avid Flyers fan and reader of books. Bernadette was a lifetime resident of Trainer, PA, a 2001 graduate of Chichester High School, attended Neuman University and Chaminade University of Honolulu. She worked for Giant, Rite-Aid, Barnes and Noble, WAWA and Wegmans,

While in college Bernadette was diagnosed with a rare cancer that strikes young people. She began treatments under the care of doctors at CHOP and the U. of Penn Hospital. Eventually she beat the odds and enjoyed almost 10 years in remission. Despite her bravery and strength, the cancer returned and ultimately took her from us. Relatives and friends may call, Wednesday, December 12, 2018, 9:00 - 10:15 AM at the Kaniefski Kendus D’Anjolell Memorial Home, 3900 W. 9th Street, Trainer, PA 19061, Funeral Mass, 11:00 AM, St. Hedwigs Church, 2623 W. 4th Street, Chester, PA 19013. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
