CARTED OFF

I’d just like to make a humble request of all the shoppers that use shopping carts: If you’re not going to put them back where they belong, please don’t use them. It’s really aggravating when a driver has to get out of the car to move a shopping cart from a parking space that someone else didn’t think was necessary to put back where it was supposed to be. And this includes the handicapped shoppers, too. Please return the carts to where they’re supposed to be. CONCERNED CUSTOMER

HOLY COW!

I thought that cow escaping a nativity scene twice in Philadelphia story couldn’t get any better until I read about the Rev. Michael Caine trying to get it back to the church yard. The Rev. Laurence Olivier and the Rev. John Gielgud better make sure no large animals escape their live nativities.

BY GEORGE

It was on TV this week that George Clooney gave 14 of his friends $1 million in cash for being a good friend and he paid the taxes for $14 million. If George could pay the tax, so can all the other millionaires. Rich people – pay your fair share.

MUMS THE WORD

The Fancy Brigade that performs in the Convention Center should be eliminated from the Mummers Parade. It is a parade. For years they marched in the parade and now they’re acting like it’s a big Broadway show in the Convention Center. I won’t watch it, I won’t have nothing to do with it. If I got tickets, I would turn them down. This should be eliminated from the parade.

THANKS, STORMY

I saw that cow escaped from the live nativity in Philadelphia. I think the cow knows it’s the World War I centennial and was trying to take us back to the 1910s when cars and animals were fighting for supremacy of the streets. I think Philadelphians should thank Stormy the cow for giving them an idea of what things were like 100 years ago.

TUBE TIME

Right-wingers in this country are so out of touch with reality that they think that FBI agent’s emails between him and his girlfriend amount to him not being able to do his job, but they are not bothered one little bit by the man who has the nuclear codes watching TV eight hours a day. I think I’d be more concerned about the latter that the former.

MORE SWAMP

People sworn to protect us – the intelligence departments, FBI, CIA, the Department of Justice – are in backrooms making deals to overthrow elections just like some banana republic. This is atrocious. This swamp needs to cleaned out. All Hillary Clinton hacks investigating Trump. It was a trap right from the start. Follow the real news, not the fake news. MR. TOM IN LINWOOD

POWER PLAY

Wonderful guest column in the Times by Marc Stier, director of the Pennsylvania Budget Policy Center, over what is really behind the GOP tax plan. Of course it is about concentrating wealth in our country to the top 1percent, therefore concentrating power in the top 1 percent. But what Mr. Stier didn’t mention is that this is been going on for the last 35 years, ever since Ronald Reagan. And the real problem is we have so many stupid people in this country who keep voting Republican, even though Republicans are essentially destroying their lives. These people don’t even know what time of day it is apparently, because all they do is believe the tripe that they’re fed by Republican politicians and cannot see what is going on before their very eyes. It’s really alarming and frightening.

JOLTIN’ JOE

As a proud Democrat, I will say: Joe Biden 2020. BINGO FROM BOOTHWYN

SHOW ‘EM THE DOOR

If these Republicans pass this tax thing, the best thing to do is vote them out of office – every one of them. Because what they’re voting for is for the rich. They’re not voting for the middle class and the poor. Anything that the Republican Party has to do with taxes, it’s to benefit the filthy rich in this country. When are the people going to wise up and know this?
