Penelope “Penny” Cappos Marinakis, 95, of Eddystone, died April 5, 2017 at her home, where Jesus was waiting for her.

Born and raised in Chester, she moved to her late residence in 1953 to raise her family.

Penny was a waitress at the Court Diner for over 30 years before retiring in 2006. She attended Gateway Community Church when able, and was a longtime member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church; where in her early years was involved in their women’s organizati­ons. Penny was a member of the School House Center in Folsom where she met new friends and participat­ed in many activities. She loved her dogs, Ruffy and Sandy; and they are missing her already. She enjoyed taking walks in the neighborho­od talking to anyone she passed by. Penny was happiest at work, whether at the diner being with people, or helping and spending time with family. She had a good wit about her and people around her always enjoyed her company.

She is predecease­d by her husband, Terry Marinakis, who died September 19, 1965 and her siblings, Gus Cappos, George Cappos, Elizabeth Hangidakis, and Nicholas and Michael Cappos.

Penny is survived by her daughter, Maria Marinakis; also, eight nieces and nephews and their extended families.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078, where friends may call after 10:00 AM

Burial: Chester Rural Cemetery
