Anthony J. “Jake” Bowers

Anthony J. “Jake” Bowers, age 93, of Middletown Twp., Media, PA, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Lima Estates.

Jake was a graduate of Ridley High School, Class of 1941. Mr. Bowers was a devoted Westinghouse employee for 45 years, retiring in 1986.

Jake was a lifelong fan of the Phillies. He was a talented self-taught auto mechanic. After retiring, Jake enjoyed traveling. Most of all he was devoted to his family.

Son of the late Alfred and Josephine Pawlikowska Bowers; husband of the late Anna E. “Betty” Buckley Bowers; father of the late Carol Jean Guhl.

Survivors: Sons: David (Penny) Bowers of West Chester, PA, Kevin (Sarah) Bowers, of Townsend, DE, Ted (Donna) McConnell of Florida, and Jim (Karen) McConnell of Boothwyn, PA, Daughter: Elizabeth (Carlos) Hasson of West Chester, PA, Son-in-Law: Bill Guhl, Grandchildren: Lisa, Stacie, Collin, James, Betsy, Bob, Barbara, Mike, Ruth, Patty, Krista, Tim, Tom, and Don. Also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews

Funeral Service: Monday, March 6th at 11:30AM at the Minshall ShropshireBleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063

Visitation: Monday, March 6th after 10:30AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Mt. Cemetery
