Lookinlikeaqueen set for trip

- By Randy Goulding

Who is going to claim Lookinlikeaqueen out of the feature race Sunday at Gulfstream Park? It seems a given the 4-year-old filly will change hands again. After all, she was taken for $16,000 in four of her last five races, and wasn’t eligible to be claimed when she finished sixth in a $16,000 starter race with a $25,000 claiming option for Floridabreds on April 19.

Acting on behalf of Mad Dog Racing Stable and himself, trainer J. Kent Sweezey nabbed her out of her latest race where she finished second going a mile on turf July 4.

She will be among the favorites in a first-level allowance race for Florida-bred fillies and mares that has a $16,000 claiming option. The 1 1/16-mile race on turf goes as race 10 on an 11-race card that begins at noon Eastern. Barring scratches, 11 horses will start if the race stays on turf. Four horses are entered as main track only. The Sweezey-trained Amadora becomes a major player if the race is moved to the main track.

Lookinglikeaqueen is looking for her first win since she won at this level going a mile on turf for trainer Michael Maker on March 13. Maker had claimed her out of her previous race for Mad Dog Racing.

In her latest race, she stalked a wicked pace, and after moving into contention turning for home she held on well to finish second behind the Mark Cassetrained Dynatown, who rallied late to win going away.

A 4-year-old daughter of Lookin at Lucky, Lookinlikeaqueen should get a similar trip Sunday and could get up in time if Samy Camacho makes his move just right.

Lookinlikeaqueen will break from post 8.

The Casse-trained Mo of the West is an interesting possibility in what appears to be a wideopen event.

The 3-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo has started just three times, and she was making her first start for Casse when she won a maiden special weight race for Florida-breds on June 24. With Miguel Vasquez aboard, Mo of the West came from a stalking position to win the 1 1/16-mile race on turf.

She will need to improve, but that is not impossible for a horse with just three starts.

Also, her second dam, War Thief, won multiple stakes on turf for earnings of $608,543. Included among her wins was the Grade 3 Modesty Handicap at Arlington Park.

She will break from post 8 with Vasquez retaining the mount.

Speed will be provided by Centsless Drama who is coming off a front-running win going a mile on turf in a $25,000 claimer for nonwinners of two.

Trained by Carlos David, she will break from the rail with Emisael Jaramillo riding. Jaramillo rode her for the first time in her sharp win June 21.

Four K’s also is looking to repeat after winning a $12,500 open claimer for trainer Wesley Ward on June 13. She came from a stalking position in the one-mile turf event.
