BEST BET: RACE 12, ALLURSTRA

FIRST RACE

TOO MUCH WAR one of several intriguing new faces in opener. Kin to G3 turf winner Mom’s On Strike sports top O/T connections, might prove right one off bench but suggest tracking tote for further evidence. REAL WICKED by debut sire out of a mare who did win once on grass. Was easily best working in company with mate Three Days Grace from gate on 6/29. NEW FOUND TREASURE by above average turf sire out of a mare who has produced three inner winners. Getting plenty of class relief after failing to show little debuting on dirt. Should improve with surface change.

SECOND RACE

K K’S REVOLVER turns back in distance while dropping to weakest level yet vs. winners. Might prove winning combo. SALTY KINDA DOG gets blinkers, looks loose, should prove one to catch. MENEHUNE just 1 for 34 lifetime having done most of his racing on dirt but could come running late for at least a piece returning to main track.

THIRD RACE

TREYS MIDNITE MOON second best behind suddenly unbeatable Crown to the Gold who came right back to win for higher tag last weekend at Suffolk Downs. Need only repeat that try to be along with these. TRACKING STOCK knocking at door at this level turf or dirt. ERRE ERRE could get loose on the front end, might get brave if able to relax long enough in front.

FOURTH RACE

In a relatively pace less race THE SON WIND figures forwardly placed from outset. Returns to more suitable level after chasing much faster off the claim. Was second best for this tag on 6/1 behind Twenty and Four, who stepped up to finish second with a big number off that effort in his subsequent start. CHARLIE THE GREEK ran away fro similar albeit over a wet track last time, stays put off the claim for suddenly high percentage barn. Strictly one to fear. OVER LIMIT can run late for minor share.

FIFTH RACE

ERASMO’S DREAM a hanging sort of late but did drop close decision last time to One of a King who has won five of his last six starts, dueling that one much of the way before coming out second best at the end. Slight edge here over SAHARA STORM who continues to hold his form extremely well of late. Strictly one to fear. MALIBU STRINGS a lightly raced sort giving up much in experience but is a half to Grade 2 turf winner Meteore going for high profile connections. Cannot ignore.

SIXTH RACE

VINNARDINI got the drop on JERSEY STREET ran away from that rival in their last meeting and back in similar spot again today. Looks like two horse battle for the top spot. BULL DOZER has obviously seen his better days, might need one off the bench.

SEVENTH RACE

HE’S A LEADER beaten a neck by wire to wire winner Chief White Sox who came up with far and away his best effort at 16-1 under similar condi-

tions on 6/24. Figures forwardly placed from outset, ready to graduate with repeat of that try.

UNBRIDLED COYOTE another coming off career best performance when also second for same tag in most recent outing. RUSSIAN WINE showed marked improvement switching to grass despite getting loose in post parade. Just a question of whether he can repeat that try today.

EIGHTH RACE

ASTRO EMPIRE broke slow, made a wide middle move chasing 9/5 winner and 7/5 runner-up in promising bow. In new and dangerous hands for second start while adding Lasix to arsenal as well. TRAIN GAME and COSMIC SHIFT may prove best of the new ones. Former showed real promise in 6/2 gate drill and mom did win twice at 2. Cosmic Shift a half to HOliday Magic who was placed in all three legs of 2013 Fla. Sire Series. Barn goes to go to rider. Must overcome potential danger from rail draw. Grisaceo also bears watching at first asking having been forwardly prepared for bow.

NINTH RACE

GIANT’S VOICE made a run at leaders, flattened out when dropped to this level for first time last month, stays put off the claim, should get nice trip stalking speedy HOT AND HEAVY. Can be along if that one falters. The latter cruised on front end, never looked back beating N3L rivals in local bow, major player despite stepping up to open company for first time .VIGAS winless in one year but a good bet to run in for at least a minor share.

TENTH RACE

BEAU SPLASH appears to have shown big speed in the a.m. prepping for career bow while well posted on the outside for debut. Lures top jock for occasion. Might be a good one. J J JUNIOR took the worst of the trips when narrowly beaten for second money by AMANECER behind odds on winner when debuting on 6/3. Did not have the best of trips trying open company next time. Back with state breds today. Amanecer logical off improved showing in latest and did shade 1:00 in the a.m. subsequent to that try but a bit of a question with no works since that bullet drill four weeks earlier.

ELEVENTH RACE

ISLAND REWARD taken to benefit from recent sprint prep stretching back around two turns in main event. Need only repeat solid try behind Lull in Honey Fox to get back on winning track. NO SWEAT could get loose from the rail in a speed lacking much in the way of any real early gas. May not look back. LIPSTICK CITY comes off arguably her best yet but did benefit from a perfect trip that day, not likely to see same pace set up in this spot.

TWELFTH RACE

ALLURSTRA, the day’s best, has been gelded since showing good effort, this level, two weeks earlier. Wheels right back, ready to graduate with a repeat of that try. GENERAL GOLD pressed strong pace set by wire to wire winner first off the claim for current connections, may stand some catching himself in finale. HARD WORKER another first time gelding who gets plenty of class relief for belated 3yo bow. Must respect for this J/T team.
