BEST BET: RACE 5, STREET CODE

FIRST RACE

Let’s say that HISTRIONIC needed her return try two back or the poor start did her in. She is just better on the turf so discount her most recent when it was washed off the green. Layoff lines are the thing of the past as this filly puts three races together. Tactical speed comes in handy today. MISS LAMBORGHINI comes in fresh with three works in tow. She has won on this sod before. This barn is 18% in turf sprints. ETERNAL TEMPEST is capable of a 60 Beyer when sprinting on this turf. There isn’t a ton of zip in here and this filly comes in fresh so a front end breather isn’t out of the question.

SECOND RACE

FORTY’S SWEETHEART ran just OK in her most recent but we think her new barn was just looking under the hood to see what they have. Plus, it was a turf try and this filly isn’t bred to like the sod. Class jump hints that connections like what they see. A good price to round out the appeal. FERGIELICIOUS is feeling good so why not try tougher. We like how this filly just likes to win. This barn is 26% with their repeating winners. TREATHERLIKESTAR adds a full furlong and has some back class. Not so sure about dirt though.

THIRD RACE

GOT GLEE has some speed, draws much better, figures a good price, and might get an early breather. Wire please. BEECHWOOD ran evenly last out but it was her first on this sod and she figures to improve second time. That was a sharp Tampa try three back. Turf breeding is solid. Race flow is only average so no help there. FEED ME CARATS is batting 500 on this sod. New barn is 19% off the claim. This filly has just enough tactical speed to lose some ground into the first turn. Hey, it can’t all be sunshine and rainbows.

FOURTH RACE

WHITE BEAUTY got a little play in her debut so there is that. She didn’t break very well when 9th of 11. She did pass a few down the stretch but just getting some racing experience is all we really care about. We love this attack post going 6 1/2 panels. HOT HIPPIE is knocking on the door. Maybe the 1 1/2 furlong cut back will help some. Beaten favorite angle applies. ORIENTAL LADY is bred to like the grass but just didn’t fire on the Tampa green. When last seen locally she was trying better in her debut. Lack of speed hurts but then again there just isn’t much pace in this race.

FIFTH RACE

STREET CODE wants to pass runners and gets a ton of pace to do just that. He can fire fresh so the short layoff is a plus. We love his works. Sanchez gets a leg up and he is 38% with this barn (small sample size). Our best bet of the day was an easy pick. WHAT POWER likes this sod and figures a good stalking trip. Last few weren’t so hot so the time off is appreciated. This barn shows a flat bet profit on the grass. CONQUEST SANDMAN is speed with more speed but at least this guy draws the rail with every opportunity to float some other speed on the turn. What if the other speeds let this guy go early? Class edge is impossible to miss. DIAMOND MAJESTY exits a key race where 2 of 5 returned to win with figs of 68 and 60. CHIEF EXCHANGER exits a key race where 2 of 3 returned to win with figs of 84 and 86.

SIXTH RACE

MISS MARCELA is by a 12% debut sire (all sire stats are for 2YO’s only). Her dam was un-raced. All 5 sibs won with 3 having beat winners (79K and 89K). Bullet blow out helps offset fact that this barn is only 5% with debut types. FIRST TIME PROUD ran well in her debut. Lone sib is 8-1-2-1 for 42K.

Once again she draws outside. MISS AURAMET is by a 2 for 4 debut sire. Her dam went 2-0-1-0 for $6,780. This is her first foal. Sire fee was 6K yet this filly sold for 135K. Main knock is that we only see two listed works. BLAZING BROOKE is by a 2 for 12 debut sire. Her dam was un-raced. Lone sib is 6-1-0-0 and earned 18K.

SEVENTH RACE

Lots and lots of speed in this race. ISLAND REWARD gets back to sprinting, draws well, has won on this sod, and owns a couple of fast works. BONES is by a 20% debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced. Lone sib to try the grass missed the board in two starts. A stalking trip off all the speeds would be ideal. Layoff lines are a small concern. LITTLE CHRISTINA got a nice confidence boost last out. She wants to pass runners and that fits with the fast early pace. This barn is 21% with their repeating winners (flat bet profit).

EIGHTH RACE

QUEENS QUARTERS is a hard trier for the most part. Class drop is main calling card. You would think that this filly prefers the grass but this barn is 18% on the dirt and they show a flat bet profit there and in routes. LUNA LUNITA will try to be quickest. If so, an early breather is her reward. She likes to win in general and can handle a wet track. HIDDEN TO WIN has tactical speed to help with her trip. Local tab is just fine at 8-3-2-0. We like this post for a one turn mile.

NINTH RACE

BABY ALIDETT didn’t fire off the layoff but she had multiple excuses: very fractious and washed off the green. We think she actually likes two turns on the turf. Why? She was stuck in the 12 hole three back when facing tons better and finished third with a Beyer top of 60. This barn is solid on the turf and show a flat bet profit. BE KIND won her turf debut and that is never easy. Not sure what happened last out other than sometimes the girls just throw in a bad one. She gets a little pace to chase so that’s OK trip-wise. BULLET THEBLUE SKY is a deep closer that gets to save all the early ground. Race flow is fine and this filly comes in fairly fresh. This barn is 27% on the turf and of course they show a flat bet profit.

TENTH RACE

NOBLE VENEZUELA is fresh speed and that is our favorite kind. We think he might clear off and if so then an early breather is his reward. Class dip can’t hurt. DARK AS MIDNIGHT did win easily in his most recent. Time off is short so we won’t hold that against him. What if six furlongs is his best distance? It is always nice to see a recent work. COLORMEPOMPOM is a grinder. He often has to settle for less though. Race flow isn’t the best. He does put starts together while his most recent was better.

ELEVENTH RACE

TWO SEVENTY ONE is bred to love the grass. This is his first start on the sod going two turns. His nice even running style bodes well for the extra distance. TIZ FROM BOSTON is by a 15% debut turf sire. His dam went 5-0-0-0 on the green. One of two sibs won on the grass (1 for 1, $22,800). This colt gets away from the rail and is bred to like the grass. A good price to entice. MR. MAC gets a second shot at this level. Two of six sibs won on the grass with another 3 hitting the board. KRIS ME DEADLY is by a 12% debut turf sire. His dam went 2-0-0-0 on the green. One of four sibs won on the grass with two more hitting the board. The winner is 4 for 23 on the green and earned 204K (Sire was Exchange Rate).
