WCH spots on Whitney Day
On Whitney Stakes Day, DRF Tournaments gives players another chance to win into the $1 million, no-takeout World Championship of Handicapping. The WCH will take place online early next year and is limited to 200 entries.
Saturday’s contest is a Grade 1 qualifier, the second in as many weeks. Previous Grade 1 qualifiers have been three weeks apart, and with only one week between qualifiers, there are likely to be fewer players entered. Fewer players means a better chance to qualify for a $5,000 seat in the WCH. The buy-in for the Grade 1 is $580.
DRFT is also running a Saturday contest where players can win into the Monmouth Super Qualifier (a $500 value) on Aug. 26. Saturday’s contest costs $120 to play, and one in 10 will advance to the Super Qualifier and get $500 in travel money.
Also this weekend, players will have their final chances to win into next week’s Saratoga Handicapping Championship, which takes place as two separate contests next Wednesday and Thursday. Saratoga entries can be purchased for $1,000, but interested parties must act fast: Registration closes this Sunday. It’s worth noting that for the first time, these contests will feature only the live racing from Saratoga.
Players looking to qualify should be on the lookout for $290 buy-in contests online, where one in 10 players will win two entries plus $500 in travel money.
There also will be additional feeders, credit-builders, matchups, and winner-takesall contests. No matter what your skill level or bankroll, DRF Tournaments will have a contest that’s right for you. It’s easy to set up an account and start playing. Go to tournaments.drf.com for more information.
Pavilion Tent event
On Saturday, I’ll be hosting a show at Saratoga from 11-11:30 a.m. in the Pavilion Tent, located by the far turn on the backyard side of the grandstand. We’re doing a show each Saturday at Saratoga with a rotating series of guests. Saturday’s guests will be DRF’s own Matt Bernier and Jonathon Kinchen, my co-host on the DRF Players’ Podcast. We will be talking tournaments as well as offering some spot plays on Saturday’s card. Please come join us and say hello.
