Dine out for a cause

Dine Out to Help Out the Food Bank of the Albemarle June 6-12. The event extends to a week to give patrons more days. Participat­ing restaurant­s will donate 10% of their earnings. For every dollar raised, the Food Bank can provide four meals to individual­s and families in need.

It’s all Greek

The Williamsbu­rg Greek Festival returns June 10-12. Indulge in authentic foods, such as butter cookies topped with powdered sugar called kourambied­es, salads tossed with vegetables and feta cheese, moussaka with layers of eggplant, beef, cheese and a béchamel sauce, and much more. Participat­e in a church tour to learn about the church’s history and traditions. Watch the dance troupes move to the sounds of traditiona­l music.

Burger battle and beer

Watch 19 restaurant­s duke it out at the CoVa Battle of the Burgers June 11. Who will be crowned the winner? Attendees get samples and an opportunit­y to vote for their favorites. Admission also comes with a compliment­ary subscripti­on to Coastal Virginia Magazine and admission into the Military Aviation Museum. Wash all that burger goodness down with a local craft beer. Listen to live music while browsing the vendor tables.

In celebratio­n of green spaces, attend Picnic at the Pond on June
