Marie J. Hewston of Paoli

Marie J. Hewston, 93, of Paoli and formerly of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away at Barclay Friends on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, which would have been her 70th wedding anniversary.

She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Hewston, who passed away in 1997.

Born in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Nasta) Jeney.

Marie was a long time member of the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) and for nearly 20 years volunteered at the Prince of Peace “Like New” Shop in Ormond Beach. Proceeds from the store supports “Family Renew” an organization that provides transitional housing to families with children.

Marie is survived by her sisters, Alice Hajduk and Bernice Squillace of White Oak, PA; her five children, Dennis of Swan Lake, NY, Cynthia Stanich of Canonsburg, Leigh Ann of Paoli, TR of Kennett Square, Jane Larson of Madison, WI; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19380, where the family will receive guests starting at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will be private.

A mass will also be said in her memory on August 12, 2018 at Prince of Peace Church in Ormond Beach.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the care provided by the dedicated staff at Barclay Friends, Willow Tree Hospice and Compassionate Senior Companions. Also sincere thanks to the caregivers at Neighborhood Hospice and Regina Care Center in Norristown who provided care when she was displaced by the fire at Barclay.
