Man arrested in hit and run
WEST WHITELAND » Police announced the arrest of a Philadelphia man who was reportedly involved in a recent hit and run.
West Whiteland police said Kevin Harvey, 22, of Philadelphia, was charged with crimes related to an alleged hit-and-run crash on the Route 30 Bypass onramp from Route 100 on July 10. Police said Harvey was located after allegedly fleeing the crash scene and he was charged with duty to give information and render aid, false reports and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked. He was released on a criminal summons.
THE FOLLOWING ARE FROM POLICE REPORTS: Retail theft
West Whiteland police said Richard Gallo, 39, of Pottstown, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property on July 20 after a patrol officer responded to the Target store for an alleged theft suspect who had left the store. Patrol officers located the subject and initiated a traffic stop. The value of the merchandise was reported to be $219. Gallo was released on a criminal summons.
West Whiteland police said Eman Twereet, 55, of Exton, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property on July 24 after a patrol officer responded to the Kohl’s store for an alleged theft of merchandise valued at $407. Twereet was released on a criminal summons.
DUI
West Whiteland police said Marsia Seydoux, 58, of West Chester, was arrested for DUI on July 14 after patrol officers responded to an alleged erratic driver on Pottstown Pike. A patrol officer located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Police said Seydoux was arrested after allegedly failing field sobriety tests. She was released on a criminal summons.
West Whiteland police said Charles Suitch, 62, of Exton, was charged with DUI on July 14 after patrol officers responded to a report of an alleged intoxicated motorist who was leaving an establishment in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway. A patrol
officer located Suitch and made contact with him. Police said Suitch was arrested after allegedly failing field sobriety tests. He was released on a criminal summons.
West Whiteland police said Megan Sweeney, 25, of Levittown in Bucks County, was charged with DUI after a one-vehicle crash on Route 202 south of Route 30 on April 14. Patrol officers said they made contact with Sweeney who operated the vehicle and reportedly exhibited signs of
impairment. She was transported to a local hospital and charged by criminal summons.
Downingtown police said Albert Zlogar, 58, of Downingtown, was taken into custody for driving under the influence in the 400 block of East Lancaster Avenue just after midnight on July 9. A traffic stop was initiated when an officer said they observed the vehicle owned and driven by Zlogar, reportedly driving erratically for several blocks. The officer approached Zlogar and said they found him to reportedly have glossy eyes, a blank expression, trouble locating his registration
and insurance and he seemed confused. Police said a field sobriety test was performed, which Zlogar reportedly failed.
Drug charges
Downingtown police said Alexander Philip Warmuth, 25, of Phoenixville, was stopped in the 400 block of Brandywine Avenue for speeding violations at 1 a.m. on July 14. Police made contact with Warmuth, who was the driver and owner of the vehicle. Police said that drug paraphernalia was in plain sight within the vehicle,
along with an opened bottle of an alcoholic beverage. A field sobriety test did not show signs of impairment, according to the police report. Police said Warmuth was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and driving at safe speeds.
West Whiteland police said Matthew Giorgio, 25, of Collegeville, was charged with alleged possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on July 15 after patrol officers responded to a one-vehicle crash on
Route 202. Officers made contact with Giorgio and recovered the alleged contraband, according to the police report. Giorgio was released on a criminal summons.
Theft
Downingtown police received a report that an iPhone 6S was stolen from Urban Air at 981 East Lancaster Avenue in East Caln
Township at about 11:30 a.m. on July 12. An investigation is ongoing.
Bicycle theft
Downingtown police received a report that a children’s purple Diamond bike was reported as stolen from a home in the 300 block of Mary Street sometime during the day on July 5. The bike was old and rusty and valued at $25.
