Keegan Ales rings in the new year with a special celebration Tuesday, Dec. 31, featuring Kingston’s own rockabilly Lara Hope & The ArkTones, with special guests The Jonny Monster Band.

Lara Hope & the Ark-Tones were a fixture for many years at the Uptown New Year’s Celebration. In August, the band played on the same daylong bill as former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and Woodstock festival veterans Arlo Guthrie and Edgar Winter at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Sullivan County. That show was one of three that took place at Bethel Woods on the weekend of Aug. 16-18 to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Woodstock Festival.

The winner of the 2017 Ameripolitan Music Award for Best Female Rockabilly Artist and named the Best Up-AndComing Band by Hudson Valley Magazine, Lara Hope and The Ark-Tones is the Northeast’s premier Roots Rock n’ Roll & Rockabilly Twang outfit. The group released its second full-length album, “Love You to Life,” in 2017. They have been hitting the road hard, spreading the gospel of American music wherever they go.

The Jonny Monster Band was originally from the Hudson Valley, but is now based in Knoxville, Tenn. Jonny Monster’s original mix of acoustic blues and hard dynamic electric guitar is like a runaway locomotive that steams into any venue.

Having opened for standouts like Johnny Winter, Lucky Peterson and Booker T. Jones, Jonny Monster has headlined his own shows down the East Coast from Burlington, Vt., to Naples, Fla. He also released a self-titled record and an exciting follow-up, “Bad Times Before,” with a full band. With East Tennessee’s own O’Neal Dover on bass and Kevin Redding on drums, Jonny Monster’s high-energy aggressive guitar style continues to captivate audiences and make the group a must-see act.

Keegan Ales is located at 20 Saint James St., Kingston. Admission is restricted to adults ages 21 and older. There is no cover.
