NY Blackhawks Baseball Club: Spring/Summer team tryouts for 9U-15U squads scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Nov. 24 and Dec. 8 at Frozen Ropes National Training Facility, 24 Old Black Meadow Road, Chester. Candidates must arrive 30 minutes early. Ages as of May 1, 2020. Fee: $25. Tryouts and evaluation include individual skills and strength which include exit speed, arm speed, launch angle and age appropriate strength and speed testing. Winter training will be held at the Blackhawks facility at DYS/ Dugout, 330 State Route 212, Saugerties. All Blackhawks players receive a $500 Under Armour uniform package as well as one destination Tournament, all at no charge. All bowlers will use last year’s average. Regular tournaments will be bowled the last Sunday of each month thru March with April being the championship final. All bowlers will receive points for each tournament they participate in toward the final in April. This is a handicap tournament. Dates are subject to change based on lane availability. Stockade FC Youth Clinic: Presented by Ulster Savings. For ages 7-14 10 a.m.-noon Nov. 9 at Dietz Stadium. Stockade staff and players will run the clinics. Participants receive a T-shirt. There is no cost for the clinic, but a $5 donation is suggested. It goes to the Stockade’s continued youth efforts in the Hudson Valley. All players must be accompanied by and adult and have cleats or turf shoes, shin guards and a soccer ball with the name on it. Parents must sign a waiver upon arrival. Registration required. Fame: The Hall of Fame Club will hold its annual meeting and “Top Ten” vote at noon Nov. 16 in the Off-Ice Training Room at the Kiwanis Ice Arena in Saugerties. The Hall is currently seeking nominations for 2020 inductee consideration. All current members of the Saugerties Hall of Fame may nominate directly. All others must complete and return a Hall of Fame Nominee Questionnaire Application along with any other pertinent information through a current member, emailed to gscsaugerties@ gmail.com or by mailing to the Saugerties Athletic Association, Attention: Sports Hall of Fame, P.O. Officiating Ulster County Track and Field Association: Looking for individuals interested in becoming scholastic officials. Prior track experience is not necessary as training will be provided in the fall. Must be over age 18 and not in high school. Officiating takes place in the winter at West Point and in the Mid-Hudson area in the spring. Costs associated with membership: $40 for new members, which includes an officials shirt and BOCES charges for fingerprinting.
