Bruce Hornsby playing at UPAC on April 27

Threetime Grammy Award winner Bruce Hornsby and his band The Noisemaker­s will perform Saturday, April 27, at the Ulster Performing Arts Center, the venue announced Tuesday.

The show starts at 8 p.m. at UPAC, 601 Broadway.

Tickets go on sale to UPAC/Bardavon members at 11 a.m. Feb 13 and 14; and to the general public at 11 a.m. Feb. 15.

Hornsby burst onto the music scene in 1986 with his piano-heavy album “The Way It Is,” with his band The Range, and since around 1990 has worked with the Grateful Dead and its various spin-off bands. He also co-wrote and performed on Don Henley’s 1989 hit song “The End of the Innocence.”

“It’s always been about staying inspired, broadening my reach and range of abilities and influences, and exploring new areas”, Hornsby said in the announceme­nt of his Kingston show. “I’m very fortunate to be able to do that, to be a lifelong student, and to continue to pursue a widerangin­g musical life.”

Tickets for the April 27 concert are $47, $57 and $77 ($5 off for UPAC/Bardavon members), and all ticket buyers will receive a copy of Hornsby’s newest album.
