Burglary: Graveyard shift received a call on May 7 at 2:51 a.m. from Bank of America security advising that they were watching live video of a subject who had broken into the bank and was attempting to open the vault at their 50W. Main St. location. According to security, the subject appeared to be a white male with black or blue pants, a tan jacket, black shoes and a red book bag. They also advised that the male appeared to be wearing a gas mask. K9 Chase did a thorough search of the interior of the bank but the suspect was not located. While officers were, still on scene they observed a male across the street from Bank of America, walking into the parking lot at Econo Lodge (53 W. Main St.) that matched the descriptio­n given by security. Officers made contact with the male, 39-year-old, Woodland resident Michael Mori. Mori was in possession of items that positively linked him to the burglary including the gas mask viewed on surveillan­ce. Mori was arrested and booked at the Yolo County Jail for burglary and a warrant that he had out of Hercules, CA.

Burglary: An employee called on May 7 at 11:59 a.m. to report a cold burglary of the business at 2W. Court St., where a donation box containing cash was stolen. During the investigat­ion, the reporting party had observed the Woodland Police Department. Facebook post from the arrest at Bank of America of Michael Mori, a 39-yearold, Woodland resident. The video at the business showed the suspect matched. Follow-up with property and evidence showed the stolen donation box from the business had been booked as evidence. Mori was later found by swing shift and admitted to the burglary. He was booked at Yolo County Jail for burglary.

Shots Fired: A reporting person called police to report gunshots fired “at next door neighbor” on May 8at 4:13 p.m. on N. Ashley Avenue. A silver minivan was seen leaving the area, northbound on N. Ashley Avenue. Officers arrived and located shell casings spread out in the roadway. These casings were collected and booked into evidence. Bullet holes were located in a parked Honda, in a pickup truck parked, and through a front residence window. There were no gunshot victims, nor any injured parties. Beyond the initial call, no witnesses were located. Several residences had video cameras and officers are following-up for video surveillan­ce.

Weapons Violations and Child Endangerme­nt: On May 8at 8:44p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle driven by Modesto Gonzalez, a 22-year-old Woodland resident, on Industrial Way near Cannery Road. Modesto had his girlfriend and two infant children in the car. During the car stop, K9Chase alerted on the driver’s side of the vehicle. A search revealed a handgun with a large capacity magazine hidden in a diaper bag. There was another standard-size loaded magazine in the vehicle. Modesto was arrested and booked for numerous weapons violations and child endangerme­nt.

Possession of Stolen Property: Officers knew of the theft of a Yeti cooler which was reported earlier in the shift. Officers stopped Richard Rodriguez, a 32-year-old Woodland resident, carrying the almost $500cooler on a bicycle on the 1100 block of Third Street on May 9 at 3:54p.m. He was arrested and booked for misdemeano­r possession of stolen property.

Search Warrants Served From Shooting Investigat­ion: Woodland Police Department’s Gang Task Force, Detectives, K9 officers and patrol officers served three search warrants on May 11in the 500block of California Street and one search warrant in the 700 block of W. Lincoln Avenue. The search warrants were a result of the investigat­ion of the shooting that occurred on 4/25/21 at about 6 p.m. in the 500 block of California St. During the search warrants, a .25caliber pistol, a .22 caliber handgun, two 9mm handguns, a short-barreled 9mm rifle and three realistic-looking handgun replicas were located and collected for evidence. Pablo Luis Lopez, a 29-year-old Woodland resident, was arrested for several weapons violations. Detectives are continuing to investigat­e this incident.

Weapons Violations/Parole Hold: Gang Task Force contacted Marcelino Michel, a 40-year-old Woodland resident, while he was sitting in his vehicle on W. Beamer Street near Cottonwood Street on May 12at 5:45p.m. A parole search was conducted and a handgun was located under the hood of the vehicle. Michel was arrested and booked for weapons violations and a parole hold.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery: Graveyard shift had just joined Swing shift on the street on May 12at 10:06p.m. when we received a call of a clearly intoxicate­d male attempting to purchase alcohol at Nugget Market. The male had arrived in a black BMW. Officers recognized that vehicle as one that had been reported stolen earlier in the day near Costco. Officers located the vehicle still parked in the Nugget parking lot. Officers made contact with the male, 19YOA, Missoula, MT resident Kobe Wolfe, and took him into custody for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. We were able to return the vehicle to its owner in what appeared to be its original condition.
