Magic Mountain's Halloween event adds mazes, scare zones and shows
Six Flags Magic Mountain will once again unleash legions of demons, monsters and ghouls for Fright Fest as the Halloween haunted event returns to the Valencia amusement park.
The 29th season of Fright Fest will feature six haunted mazes, eight scare zones and four shows on 23 nights from Saturday through Oct. 31. This year's edition will include a new maze, two new scare zones and two new shows.

Haunted mazes
TRUTH OR DARE >> The new feature with never-before-done scares and effects near the Full Throttle coaster takes visitors inside a haunted facility for a warped game of the classic game.
AFTERMATH 2: CHAOS RISING >> A fog-shrouded, post-apocalyptic city covering 40,000 square feet has life-size props, pyrotechnics and other special effects.
WILLOUGHBY'S RESURRECTED >> The reincarnated Willoughby family roams the harrowing hallways of their beloved haunted mansion.
VAULT 666 UNLOCKED >> Demonic relics cast spells on a dark and sinister antique shop and haunt those who try to steal the artifacts.
CONDEMNED: FOREVER DAMNED >> The walls of a dilapidated home come alive with the spirits who once lived there.
SEWER OF SOULS >> Step into an oozing underground world of terrifying tunnels filled with lost souls, dank air and the smell of dread.
Scare zones
DEVIL'S TRIANGLE >> Lost souls dwelling in the haunted ocean depths of the Devil's Triangle prey on visitors wandering through this new scare zone near the amusement park entrance.
CARNIVHELL >> Step right up if you dare in this new attraction in the Bugs Bunny World kiddie land, haunted by a carnivorous band of merciless carnies from a once-thriving circus.
TERROR RISING: DARK DEVELOPMENTS
>> Demons from the depths of hell prey on innocent passers-by who enter a haunted cemetery in this attraction that debuted in 2021.
CITY UNDER SIEGE >> Sinister clowns emerge from dark corners and run rampant through the streets.
EXILE HILL >> The sinister undead relatives of the Willoughby family vow to protect their haunted estate at any cost near the Sky Tower at the top of Magic Mountain.
DEAD ZONE >> The zone that debuted in 2021 finds a renegade horde of cyberpunk zombies feeding on unsuspecting visitors in the Underground area of the park near the West Coast Racers coaster.
NIGHTMARES: A TWISTED FANTASY >> Your favorite childhood bedtime stories take on a perverse twist as creatures leap from the pages of twisted fairy tales.
TERROR-TORY TWISTED >> Steamspewing mechanical beasts stalk their victims in the Screampunk District near the Twisted Colossus coaster.
Shows
“THE RISING” >> The new show set on the remains of a sunken pirate ship in the Devil's Triangle scare zone centers around a good-versus-evil battle for control of the powerful and demonic Devil's Claw.
“VOODOO NIGHTS” >> Ghoul rock meets today's pop hits as visitors break out their “Thriller” moves and dance the night away in Full Throttle Plaza.
“UNLEASHED” >> The kickoff show at 7 nightly in the City Under Siege scare zone unleashes a horde of monsters.
“SPIRITS WITH SPIRITS” >> Also new this year is a haunted happy hour of “monstertainment” featuring cocktails, treats, music and monsters in the West Picnic Pavilion for an additional fee.
Coasters in the dark
The park turns off the lights on Tatsu, Viper, X2 and other roller coasters for a thrilling ride in the dark.
Fright Fest runs Sept. 10-11, 16-18, 23-25 and Oct. 1-2, 7-9, 14-16, 21-23, 28-31. It's included with daily admission and season passes.
