PIERCING, POINTY PINEAPPLES PULLED
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is recalling about 1,500 decorative driftwood pineapples because metal leaves on top of the pineapples have sharp edges, posing a laceration hazard.
The company has received two reports of consumers cutting their fingers on the metal leaves on the pineapples, resulting in one injury that required stitches. The pineapples are shaped from tan driftwood spikes, have spiked, galvanized metal leaves at the top and measure approximately 19 inches high by 9.5 inches wide by 9.5 inches in diameter.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pineapples and return them to any Cracker Barrel Old Country Store for a full refund. Online purchasers will be contacted directly. Call Cracker Barrel Old Country Store at 800-3339566 or visit www.crackerbarrel.com and click on “Product Recalls.”
BISCUITS RECALLED FOR POSSIBLE LISTERIA
Johnston County Hams, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall for approximately 89,096 pounds of ready-to-eat ham products due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. In response, Callie’s Charleston Biscuits LLC is issuing a voluntary product recall for two products that may contain the potentially affected Johnston County Hams — Country Ham Biscuits, with the UPC 897856002001 and Cocktail Ham Biscuits, with the UPC 897856002049.
Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Symptoms include high fever, severe headaches, neck stiffness, nausea, confusion, and convulsions.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. Consumers should return these products to the place of purchase or throw them away. Consumers with questions regarding the recall should contact Kevin Hackler, Callie’s Charleston Biscuits Director of Legal Affairs, at 843577-1198.
