George Suchyak

George Suchyak, age 90, of Stratford, beloved husband of Martha Bulikova Suchyak, passed away on May 16, 2024. George was born in Porubka, Czechoslovakia, to the late George and Elizabeth (Kica) Suchyak and had been a longtime area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School and Bridgeport Engineering Institute and was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Okinawa, Japan, for eighteen months. George was a retired engineer for Remington-Dupont. He was an active member of St. John’s Orthodox Church in Bridgeport, where he was the former treasurer and a founding member of the Senior “R” Club. George was also a member of St. John’s America Masonic Lodge #8- Stratford. Survivors, in addition to his beloved wife of 39 years include his niece, Maria Petrus, grandniece, Michelle Baronowski and her husband John, greatgreat-nieces and nephew, Mia, Robert, and Elsa, and several other nieces and nephews in Canada and Slovakia. Panachida at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 21st, at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Requiem Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in The CarpathoRussian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, 364 Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport.
