Frances May Darwick

Frances May Darwick, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, at the age of 84. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength, that will be cherished by all who know her.
Frances was born on September 22, 1939, in New York City, to Milton and Sophie Landon. She grew up in the Bronx, NY, where she developed a passion for animals, especially horses, and began her journey as a life-long learner. After completing high school, she married Robert S. Darwick and raised three children. Later in life, she went back to school and completed her undergraduate education at Fairfield University, with a B.S. in Marketing. She spent the remainder of her career in a variety of positions, such as Corporate Librarian, Purchasing Specialist, and providing administrative support. Family and faith were the cornerstone of Frances’ life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She was a devoted mother to her children, Andrew (Beth) Darwick of Westfield, MA, Amy (Bob) Hermanns of Bridgeport, CT, and Edward (Carol) Darwick of Mesa, AZ, and a loving grandmother to Ashley Darwick, Lauren Darwick, Robby (Kristin) Hermanns, Rachel
Hermanns, Evan Darwick, and great-granddaughter Ava Grace Hermanns. She is also survived by her younger sisters, Dayle Wesson of Pompano Beach, FL and Margaret (Peter) Rettig of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and her favorite niece, Stefanie (Steven) Menack of Mountain Lakes, NJ. She was predeceased by her grandson, Joshua Hermanns. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and stimulating conversations, where family gatherings became treasured memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
A celebration of Frances’s life will be held on March 18th, at 10:00 a.m. at Loyalty Cemetery in Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Chabad of Orange, in Frances’ memory.
