Urena draws 6-game ban for hitting Acuna
Marlins starting pitcher Jose Urena was suspended for six games and fined an undisclosed amount for intentionally hitting Braves rookie Ronald Acuna Jr. on Wednesday night, which led to a benches-clearing scuffle.
Urena’s discipline will start Friday unless it is appealed. Braves first base coach Eric Young was suspended one game and an undisclosed fine for his role in the incident.
The Rockies snapped Acuna Jr.’s home-run streak and ended the Braves’ five-game winning streak, rallying for three unearned runs in the ninth inning for a 5-3 victory on Thursday night.
Acuna, who had a chance to become the first player in Braves franchise history to homer in six consecutive games, finished 1-for-4.
◆ Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Tuesday night’s game against the Giants. Giants catcher Nick Hundley also received an undisclosed fine. Unless Puig appeals, he will begin the suspension Friday.

The Mets became the first team to score 15 or more runs in consecutive games since the New York Giants in 1933. Their 20-run margin of victory was the largest in team history.
◆ The Rangers turned the sixth triple play in franchise history. In the fourth inning, the Angels had the bases loaded when David Fletcher hit a ground ball to third baseman Jurickson Profar, who touched third for a force out before tagging Taylor Ward, the runner on third who thought Profar caught the ball and was retreating to the bag. Profar then threw to Rougned Odor, who tapped second base for a force out and a 5-4 triple play.
◆ Bryce Harper had three hits and drove in three runs as the Nationals ended a four-game losing streak and snapped the Cardinals’ eight-game winning streak with a 5-4 victory.
