MAMA BEAR ROARS
‘Toxic’ rumors about divorce and Khloe’s parentage set off Kris Jenner
As Kris Jenner has taken to her blog to blast all the false stories being circulated about her and the entire Kardashian clan, a number of longtime family friends and associates are saying, “What did she expect?”
While everyone understands people being upset when untrue rumors are published as fact, a close Kardashian pal told me Thursday, “After all this time, Kris and the rest of the family should understand that unfortunately this kind of crap is part of the price you pay for being in the public eye. … In the case of the Kardashians they have taken the marketing of their brand to such a high degree, they should expect the tabloids to pile on with all kinds of crazy stories.”
Jenner reportedly was pushed over the edge — leading her to pen the blog entry about “toxic, baseless and disgusting rumors” — when she learned some real friends were believing tales that she planned to divorce Bruce Jenner and that Khloe was not the biological daughter of the late Robert Kardashian.
“When lies are believed as true, by people who truly, truly know you — then you know you have to fight back and hard,” said a second Kardashian source.
YET ANOTHER ROLE: There’s more exciting news for Chicago civic and business leader Mellody Hobson — recently engaged to movie mogul and “Star Wars” kingpin George Lucas.
Hobson, long a business and consumer news contributor to “Good Morning America” and ABC News, has just been named a contributor and analyst on finance and the economy for CBS.
In the words of CBS News president David Rhodes, “Mellody has extraordinary passion for financial literacy — helping people understand and manage their resources in today’s complex global economy.”
Hobson will report on multiple broadcasts on the eye network, including “CBS This Morning” and “CBS Evening News,” plus CBS Radio and online platforms.
The president of Ariel Investments, Hobson is also board chairman of DreamWorks Animation and is on the boards of Groupon and Starbucks.
On top of all that she serves on a number of charity boards — most importantly as the successor to the late Maggie Daley as the chair of After School Matters.
Sibling rivalry may have just ramped up again in a certain Kentwood, La., household. Just as Britney Spears has announced the end of her engagement to Jason Trawick, we learn that the entertainer’s younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, is thinking about walking down the aisle with her longtime boyfriend, businessman Jamie Watson.
The younger Spears, 21, has
