Former Bull Lucas takes two-year deal with Raptors
The Toronto Raptors have signed free-agent point guard John Lucas III, who had career bests in points (7.5), assists (2.2) and rebounds (1.6) in a career-high 49 games with the Bulls last season. The deal was believed to be worth $3 million over two years.
Lucas played from 2007 to 2010 in Italy, Spain and China after two seasons with Houston Rockets and became a helpful piece for the Bulls last season as they dealt with multiple injuries to guard Derrick Rose.
The Raptors also re-signed center Aaron Gray, the Bulls’ secondround pick in 2007, who played in 49 games for Toronto last season.
The New Orleans Hornets, Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves have completed the three-team deal that will send 7-foot center Robin Lopez and forward Hakim Warrick from Phoenix to New Orleans while moving forward Wesley Johnson and a first-round draft pick from the Timberwolves to the Suns.
Word of the multiplayer trade first broke Wednesday, though the final version had minor changes.
The deal sends the contracts of Jerome Dyson and Brad Miller from New Orleans to Phoenix. The T-wolves receive three secondround draft picks.
