FORT PAYNE — Bobby G. Gilbert, 80, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, May 28, 2018.

Funeral: Thursday, May 31, 2018, at 11 a.m. from Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Moses and Bro. James Grindstaff officiating.

Family will receive friends Thursday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Graveside service will be Friday, June 1, 2018, at Lakewood Memory Garden South in Rossville, Ga., at 11 a.m. central time with Bro. Bob Daugherty officiating.

He is survived by loving wife of 59 years, Doris Gilbert; son: Thomas Gilbert and wife Mikki, of Rainsville, Ala.; daughter, Becky Waters and husband Tony, of Flintstone, Ga.; brothers, Phillip Gilbert, of Kingston, Tenn., Nolan Gilbert, of Fort Payne, Ala.; sisters, Sue Bradford of Gaylesville, Ala., Fredia Walker, of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Erica Watson and husband Dave, Derrick Dunwoody and wife Danielle; great-grandchildren, Sheyenne Dunwoody, Logan Dunwoody, David Watson, Lee Anna Watson Millican and husband Rex; great-great-grandchildren, Jacoby Watson, Elvi Millican, and Blake Millican.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ermon and Zelma Gilbert; brother, Billy Gilbert; infant son, Bobby Eugene Gilbert.

He graduated from Sylvania High School in 1956. Always loved the outdoors, was a great gardener, and loved farming. Most of all, he loved his family dearly. Especially his grandchildren,
