Riverbend adds more to lineup
Wristbands, tokens on sale today
The Riverbend Festival lineup continues to expand as the U.S. Fleet Forces Band, Tower of Power, and G. Love & Special Sauce have been added to this year’s event. Also, for the first time, patrons can buy admission wristbands and tokens for making food and drink purchases at the festival from one location.
Beginning today, Harry’s Convenience Stores and area Food City locations will carry both.
Wednesday at Riverbend this year will celebrate all military branches and will be highlighted by a performance of the Navy’s 24-piece ceremonial group, the U.S. Fleet Forces Band. The band plays a mix of current top rock, pop and hiphop hits. The band will play on the Coke Stage at 8:30 p.m. followed by headliner Dustin Lynch.
The Tower of Power has been rocking its horn-driven music since 1978. Best known for its hits “What Is Hip?,” “You’re Still a Young Man” and “So Very Hard to Go,” members play a blend of soul, funk, blues, jazz and R&B. The Tower of Power horn section has played with everybody from Aerosmith to Santana to Phish and Poison.

G. Love & Special Sauce features Garrett “G. Love” Dutton with Jeffrey Clemens on drums and Jim Prescott on bass. The trio is known for playing a laid-back style of blues-influenced hip-hop. They will play on the Bud Light Stage on opening night June 8.
Wristbands are available at a discounted rate until the festival begins on June 8. The wristbands and tokens are available now at area Harry’s Convenience Stores and Food City locations. Admission is $44 for all eight days of entertainment until June 7, when they will be $60 at the gate.
Tokens are also available for a discount if you buy early. Ten dollars in tokens are on sale for $9 until June 5 at midnight. Tokens are needed for the majority of festival purchases, including all food and beverages.
Also new this year are special seating options, including Starview Landing, which is billed as a party pad for the Coke Stage experience. Patrons get a seat up front, exclusive options to purchase food and cocktails, and private restrooms. Prices vary nightly, but for $238, the program includes parking passes for all eight days of the festival. Starview Landing is firstcome, first-served and offers areas to sit, stand, mingle or dance.
“We wanted to offer an enhanced experience for people watching at the Coke Stage,” said marketing director Amy Morrow.
Fan Stands are another new option for fans in front of the Coke Stage. For $20 per night plus a wristband, patrons get access to a food vendor in the area and a bar with beer and soda options as well as private restrooms.
Club Riverbend includes admission for the entire festival and passes are $220 each. Members enjoy a cash bar, catering, private portable restrooms, a parking pass and more.
