St. Joseph Seniors meeting
President Suzanne Grenier opened the meeting with a prayer for the sick, Gene Arsenault and Ed Carpentier, and for the deceased, Jean Dutremble, Sr. and Joe Azavedo. Door prize winners were Linda Deguire, Thea Barnabe, Barbara De Christoforo, Joan Joubert and Jeanne Savaria. Dollar-a-month winners were Fran Roy, Rita Boisvert, Connie Roy, Raymond Aubin, Constance Lemay and Suzanne M. Grenier. Raffle ticket winners were Viola Sztabor, Pat Stroke, Claire Brodeur, Lorie Dutremble and Michelle McDonald. Celebrating birthdays this month are Andy Dufault, Gary Plotkin, Lucille Lavoie, Rachel Lepage, Barbara Carpentier, Jeanne Savaria, Sue Martin, Lucille Lavallee, Estelle Arcand, Mary Gaboriault, Rose Jalbert, Richard Lemay, Rose Thurber, Jeanne Wall, Diane Lamoureux, Rene Phaneuf and Lorraine Peloquin. Lucille Long and Lucille Wegimont were welcomed to the senior group. Any senior is welcome to join. St. Joseph Seniors group will hold a chowder and clam cake dinner this Tuesday, June 25, at noon in the Good Shepherd School auditorium at 1200 Mendon Road. Tickets are $10 per person. A lobster bake at Foster’s in York, Maine is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 2; also a Vine to Wine Delight trip with a luncheon and Vermont Wineries wine tasting Oct. 11. Trips to Mohegan Sun Casino, leaving from St. Agatha’s Church, are scheduled for Friday, July 13 and Sept. 14. For more information or reservations on the casino trips call Fran Roy 401-356-1493. Everyone had a wonderful time and a great meal at the Village Haven Restaurant for the St. Joseph’s Senior Club’s 43rd anniversary. There were 15 door prizes, raffle tickets winners and the money centerpiece was won by Barbara De Christoforo. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26.
