Local Briefs St. John Vianney Seniors Cumberland Lions Club plan April meeting scholarship breakfast
The April meeting for the St. John Vianney Seniors will be held in the church hall on Wednesday, April 19, at noon. A ‘Beef Pot Roast Dinner’ will be served.
Deacon Paul Lambert will be the center’s guest and will show beautiful slides taken while visiting The Holy Land. This is the third in a series of lectures given by Deacon Lambert.
The April drawing for the ‘Supermarket Raffle’ will also take place.
Reservations for this meeting should be made no later than April 10 by calling Ann Foisy at 401-333-3231. Guests of members are always welcome.

CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Lions Club will be holding its annual Scholarship Breakfast at Our Lady of Fatima Church Hall at 1 Fatima Drive in Cumberland on Sunday, April 2, from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Tickets for the breakfast buffet and omelet station cost $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 6-12.
All funds collected will help fund the Dee and Felix Lima Scholarship, which is awarded to a Cumberland resident studying in a medical field, and a broader scholarship for a Cumberland High School graduating senior. Applications for both scholarships are still available for this year’s awards at the Cumberland Lions website,
