Gordon County Singing Convention will hold the spring singing on Saturday, April 24, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church beginning at 6:30 p.m., at 574 Pleasant Hill Road, in Ranger, located just off state highway 156. Singers, directors and specials are expected from the surrounding areas. All singers and listeners are invited to participate.
The Highland Rivers Health Governing Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday, April 28, at 10 a.m. in the Reaching our Community Clubhouse located at 1 Goodyear Ave., in Cartersville. The Girl Scouts will host a free “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” event at the Calhoun Recreation Department’s Yellow Park, Sunday, May 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. for all rising Kindergarten and first grade girls and their caregivers/parents. Tallatoona Community Action Partnership Inc. is currently accepting appointments for the LIHEAP Cooling Assistance Program for the senior households 65 years of age and older. Beginning May 3, at 8:30 a.m., the general public may begin scheduling appointments. Gordon Central High School Baseball is hosting a golf tournament, Wednesday, May 12, at Fields Ferry, 581 Fields Ferry Drive. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. with the four person scramble beginning at noon in a shotgun start. Cost is $100 per person.
