GETTING THERE: Quebec Airport is your choice for destination. There are direct flights from Newark, but most other major eastern cities—like Boston – will require a stopover, usually in Montreal.

For the driver, it’s about a seven-hour drive from Boston. With Burlington, Vermont, en route, one choice might be to break up the drive with a Vermont ski stop before or after. But it is a doable drive.

CHOOSING YOUR PACKAGE:

That’s easy as it’s so all-inclusive that you’ve little to ponder ahead of time. Choose your dates (and by the way, this is a four-season resort) and then choose between a classic room (which are bright, roomy and thankfully have tons of drawer space), deluxe for a bit more space or a suite for a more posh experience. DINING AND APRES: Three solid meals a day (and they really do go all out at each meal) and bar access to the main bar (as well as wine with dinners) is included. You can book a reservation for table service a la cart (also included) at Le Chalet, but the main dining room is also top notch. BONUS NOTE: A full 80 percent of all products used are from Quebec; 30 percent are from within a 100 km radius. That’s as local sourced as one can get.

Like all Club Meds, you will get an itinerary of fun apres activities to take part in, from concerts to dance parties to slopeside “glow ups.”

KIDS STUFF: Kids programs, which go out mornings and afternoons (you pick them up for a family lunch break) are broken up in ages, beginning at 3 years old. Beginning in January, they will also offer all-day programs for babies as well, meaning the grown ups can find their own time. Evening sitters are also available for an added cost.

WHAT ABOUT NON-SKIERS? There’s the spa and pool, winter hiking and snowshoeing, dog sledding exursions (where you don’t just get to drive the sled, you get to bond with all the dogs) and more. You can book a day in Quebec City or a train ride and visit to a quaint nearby village. All excursions are managed by Club Med, making it easy for you.

The Club Med itself is a wonderful place to hang out at as well. Rooms bathed in natural light; cozy spots to look out. You can lose yourself in there.

COVID STUFF: (All this could change at any time so double check). Arriving in Canada requires a negative PCR test (not an antigen; those are not accepted) that is less than 72 hours old. You’ll be asked to pre-register and provide both that test result and your vaccination proof on an app called “Arrive Can.” Heading back home is easier: Club Med provides on-site, quick and easy COVID testing the day before your departure. It was a breeze on that end.
