Oladipo picks up Pacers

-

Victor Oladipo had 25 points and 14 rebounds, and Darren Collison made a tiebreaking jumper with 17.8 seconds left to help the Indiana Pacers top the Bulls 107-105 last night in Chicago.

Myles Turner added 18 points and Collison finished with 14 as Indiana earned its fifth consecutive road win for its longest such streak since April 2012. Turner also blocked six shots, including Antonio Blakeney’s desperate jumper as the final seconds ticked off.

The Pacers return home tonight to host the Celtics. The Pacers appeared to be in solid shape with a 95-91 lead with 30.5 seconds left. But Blakeney converted a fourpoint play after he was fouled by Collison on a 3-point try.

Collison then made up for the mistake with a pullup jumper from the wing, putting Indiana back in front. The veteran guard was 6-for-15 from the field.

It was the second straight heartbreaking result for Chicago, which lost to Denver in overtime Wednesday.

Blakeney led the Bulls with 22 points. Zach LaVine scored nine of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, and Justin Holiday had 19 points.

Knicks 118, Mavericks 106 — Allonzo Trier scored 19 of his career-high 23 points during a second-half surge, fellow rookie Mitchell Robinson had his first double-double and visiting New York handed Dallas its sixth straight loss.

Tim Hardaway Jr. had 18 points and six rebounds to help the Knicks win for the second time in three games after a five-game skid that followed a victory in their opener.

Thunder 134, Wizards 111 — Continuing its turnaround from a terrible season start, Oklahoma City picked up its fourth consecutive victory by beating struggling, booed-at-home Washington behind Russell Westbrook’s 23 points and 12 assists.

From 0-4 to 4-4, the Thunder are clicking right now, led by Westbrook, who missed the first two games after a procedure on his right knee and sat out the final quarter of the rout at Washington.

Clippers 120, Magic 95 — Lou Williams was perfect on five 3-point attempts and scored 28 points to lead Los Angeles to a win over host Orlando.

Tobias Harris had 21 points and Danilo Gallinari 13 for Los Angeles, which registered its 10th straight win over the Magic. Boban Marjanovic made his first start for the Clippers and finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Nikola Vucevic led Orlando with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Evan Fournier scored 19 and D.J. Augustin had 13 points for the Magic, who have lost four straight.

Rockets 119, Nets 111 — Chris Paul had 32 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds, Carmelo Anthony added a seasonhigh 28 points and visiting Houston snapped a four-game losing streak with a victory over Brooklyn.

Clint Capela finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds, and Eric Gordon contributed 21 points for the Rockets, who had stumbled to a 1-5 start a season after winning 65 games and falling a game short of the NBA Finals.

Elsewhere in the NBA — Cavaliers forward Kevin Love will be out at least six weeks — and maybe longer — after surgery on his left foot, another blow to a team in disarray in its first season following LeBron James’ departure.
