JOE PERRY ROCKS WITH BOCH

-

Leave it to automobile mogul Ernie Boch Jr. to host an epically intimate concert with music legend Joe Perry.

An Evening with Joe Perry took place at Boch’s Norwood hangar Friday night, attracting 300 guests to listen to some sweet tunes while support his nonprofit, Music Drives Us.

The Aerosmith guitarist took the stage with a gang of other artists — including bandmate, keyboardist and backup singer Buck Johnson — to perform as Joe Perry and Friends. The group played a 15-song set, which featured a couple of obvious choices like Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” and The Joe Perry Project’s “Let the Music Do the Talking,” as well as other rock classics like “Dirty Water” and “Little Queenie.”

The fundraising affair attracted a full house, including former Patriots Rob Ninkovich and Matt Light, Fox 25’s Gene Lavanchy, Boch Center CEO Joe Spaulding and his wife, Joyce, Mittcom exec Bruce Mittman and his wife, Ellen, blues guitarist Johnny A. and his wife, Beth, Perry’s agent Paul Geary, the guitarist’s son Aaron Hirsch Perry, “Open House Party” legend John Garabedian, Spectra Medical’s Tony and Joyce Arrigo, Sociable’s John Methia and Ernie’s PR gal Peggy Rose.

Also spotted in the crowd: ex-TV gal Gail Huff, who’s back home for the holidays. The exbroadcaster came in from New Zealand, where husband and former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown now serves as the ambassador. Huff’s daughter, singer-songwriter Ayla Brown, was by her side at the event, with Scott getting ready to embark on a 23-hour flight back to Massachusetts.

Guests donated at least $300 to Music Drives Us to snag a ticket to the exclusive event. The organization works to keep music education alive and thriving in communities throughout New England, supporting programs and individuals through grants and other means.
