Robert A. Moore of Mashpee died Feb. 5.

He was born in Teaneck, N.J. He later lived in Walden, N.Y., and Poultney, Vt. In 2008, he and his wife moved to Mashpee.

A graduate of Teaneck High School, he earned a degree in veterinary medicine from Cornell University.

Dr. Moore was employed at Walden Animal Clinic for 40 years.

He and his wife were involved in Goodwill Presbyteri­an Church, loved to study the Bible and teach anyone who wanted to do in-depth Bible study. They later founded the Mid-Hudson Christian Church.

Dr. Moore served on the board of the Walter Hover Home for several years and was a prison ministry volunteer for Prison Fellowship Internatio­nal. Late in life he was a member of the Osterville Baptist Church.

He loved sports of any kind, including skiing with his kids, sailing, golfing, running, working out and being outdoors in the fresh air.

Husband of the late Jane Purdy, Dr. Moore is survived by a daughter, Mary Scalli of Spring, Texas; a son, Jeff of Holliston; a brother, George of West Caldwell, N.J.; three grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Osterville Baptist Church, Osterville.
