Lady Hornets snap skid
BRYANT – After a sixmatch skid in 6A Central Conference action, the Bryant Lady Hornets got back on the winning track this past Thursday, sweeping the
Little Rock Southwest Lady Gryphons at the Hornet’s Nest in Bryant. The win puts the Lady Hornets at 3-10 overall, 3-8 in conference play.
Bryant swept LRSW 25-16, 25-13 and 25-9 Thursday after getting swept by the Conway Lady Wampus Cats in a game moved up Wednesday in Conway.
On Thursday, though, the Lady Hornets were led by
seniors Erin Key and Ella Reynolds, with both getting eight kills apiece. Senior Sammie Jo Ferguson and sophomore Lily Settle added six kills each, with senior Madelyn Hoskins spiking down five.
Senior Samantha Still led the Lady Hornets with 19 digs, senior Alyssa Hernandez had 13 and senior Jaiyah Jackson had 10 digs on the night.
Senior Shaylee Carver led the way with 20 assists and three aces, with junior Lily Studdard assisting on 15 points. Ferguson had two service aces, with Still, Reynolds, Hernandez and Studdard all adding one each.
On Wednesday, the Lady Hornets would get swept by Conway 13-25, 15-25 and 11-25. Reynolds, Ferguson and Hoskins all had three kills to lead the Lady Hornets. Hoskins added three aces and Hernandez had eight digs. Jackson had seven digs, with Still adding five. Studdard had eight assists, with Carver adding five.
Bryant is back in action Monday in a makeup game with Greenbrier at the Hornet’s Nest in Bryant.
