Navy women rally past Michigan; No. 4 Florida edges Loyola in OT

Trailing by four midway through the second half, the No. 9 Navy women’s lacrosse team scored eight of the final 11 goals to beat host Michigan, 11-10, on Sunday. Jenna Collins (River Hill) scored a free-position goal with just under two minutes remaining to give the Mids an 11-10 lead. Kelly Larkin finished with four goals and one assist, and Collins had a hat trick — her third in as many games — for Navy. MORE STATE WOMEN: Shayna Pirreca scored just under one minute into overtime to lift No. 4 Florida over visiting Loyola Maryland, 17-16. Livy Rosenzweig’s free-position goal with 2:27 to play in regulation gave the Greyhounds (0-2) a 16-14 lead, but the Gators (2-1) answered with a free-position goal at 1:56. Florida then picked off an errant pass on Loyola’s clear attempt, and Madisyn Kittell scored with 1:12 remaining to send the game into overtime. Frankie Kamely finished with four goals for the Greyhounds. NATION WOMEN: Courtney Murphy had six goals and one assist and Kylie Ohlmiller added four goals to help host No. 2 Stony Brook (3-0) cruise to a 16-3 win over No. 20 Denver (3-1). ... No. 13 Northweste­rn (4-1) closed the game on a 5-0 run to secure a 9-5 victory over No. 7 Southern California (2-2). ... No. 17 Notre Dame (3-2) overcame a 7-3 halftime deficit to earn an 11-9 victory over visiting Elon (0-3). DIVISION III MEN: Peter Pitroff scored with eight seconds left to lift fourth-ranked Denison (2-0) to an 11-10 victory over No. 15 Stevenson (0-1). Jacob Tatum had four goals in his Mustangs debut. NATION MEN: Trevor Baptiste went 22-for-22 on faceoffs with 13 ground balls and No. 4 Denver had 11 goal scorers to run past visiting Cleveland State, 17-8. Baptiste’s 22 faceoff wins against the Vikings (1-5) are the second most without a loss in Division I history. ... Tre Leclaire scored the tying goal with 1.8 seconds left in regulation and the winner in overtime to lift No. 5 Ohio State (4-0) to a 12-11 win over host Jacksonvil­le (2-3).
