Couple found dead in Odenton
Fatal shootings of man, wife in home may not have been random, police say
A couple was found shot dead in their Odenton home Sunday morning, police said.
Lt. Ryan Frashure, a police spokesman, said Anne Arundel County police were called at 7:05 a.m. to the 2000 block of Brigadier Boulevard near Charter Oaks Boulevard from an adult family member inside the house saying two people were dead there.
The couple, 55-year-old Charles James Edward Jackson and his wife, 47-year-old Veronique Crystal Jackson, were found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel, a police statement said.
After the bodies were found, homicide detectives were called to the scene to interview the family member who called 911 and investigate, Frashure said. Autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death will be done at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore today, the statement said.
“Preliminary facts gathered from witnesses coupled with evidence within the crime scene indicate this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence,” the statement read.
The incident appears to have been isolated to the house late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, and there is no threat to the neighborhood or public, Frashure said. The case is considered a suspicious death investigation.
