No. 6 Grizzlies reach IAAM ‘A’ semifinals, 3-1

No. 6 Garrison Forest (17-3) beat visiting Severn for the third time this season, and by the same score, 3-1, in an Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n of Maryland A Conference field hockey quarterfin­al Monday. Bayly Jarrett, Lucy Swindell and Hailey Mules scored for the Grizzlies. Regan Leavitt got the Admirals’ only goal. Garrison Forest, which led 3-0 at the half, faces No. 7 McDonogh at home Wednesday.

NO. 3 SEVERNA PARK 1, ARUNDEL 0: Lauren Duvall scored the only goal to lead the Falcons (11-3-1) over the visiting Wildcats in a Class 4A East semifinal. Arundel’s goalie Shannon Davis had five saves.

NO. 5 ARCHBISHOP SPALDING 4, ST. MARY’S 0: Kyler Greenwalt and Erin Shanahan each scored two goals as the Cavaliers (19-1) shut out the visiting Saints in an IAAM A Conference quarterfin­al game. It was the 12th shutout of the season for Spalding.

NO. 7 MCDONOGH 4, ROLAND PARK COUNTRY 1: Megan Whittle scored two goals and Brindi Griffin and Madi Ewing each added another as the host Eagles (13-3-1) beat the Reds in an IAAM A Conference quarterfin­al.

NO. 8 MOUNT HEBRON 3, NO. 14 WESTMINSTE­R 1: Ally Unkenholz, Hannah Schied and Molly Bishop scored to lead the host Vikings (15-1) over the Owls (13-3) in a Class 3A East semifinal matchup. Chachi Kelehan had two saves for Mount Hebron.

NO. 10 MOUNT DE SALES 5, JOHN CARROLL 0: Riley Gentner, Leah DiGiandome­nico, Lacy Cole, Mandy Ignacio and McKenzie Griffin scored to lead the Sailors (17-1) to a shutout over the visiting Patriots in an IAAM B Conference quarterfin­al. Eve Lukowski recorded 10 saves for Mount de Sales.

TOWSON 2, FRANKLIN 1: The Generals got two goals from Maeve Lynch and held off the Indians in a Class 3A North semifinal.
