Across the state, alcohol sales — and mixed beverage tax revenues — were also up 14 percent compared to October 2011, according to the comptroller’s office. Texas bars, restaurants and hotels poured $477.6 million worth of alcoholic drinks, netting $66.9 mil- lion in taxes for the state.
October beer, wine and mixed drink sales in Fort Worth totaled $20.4 million; San Antonio, $40.3 million; Dallas, $56.9 million; and Houston, $89.4 million.
The state’s top seller in October was the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, which was No. 2 on last month’s list, where bar receipts were an estimated $1.8 million.
Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, No. 1 in September, came in second last month.
Its registers rang up alcohol sales totaling $1.6 million.
