Donald W. MacDonald

BAY HEAD - Donald W. MacDonald, 92 of Bay Head passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Crest Pointe Rehab Center, Point Pleasant, NJ.

Donald was born in Westfield to the late Frederick W. and Harriet Brooks (nee Cosgrove) MacDonald and had resided there for a majority of his life before moving to Bay Head many years ago.

He was a graduate of Westfield High School and Rutgers University before entering the United States Navy. He served during the Korean War from 1953 and was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant.Jg in 1957.

Donald then went on to a successful career as an Advertising Sales Executive with Forbes Inc. in New York, NY .

Don and his late wife Lynn were members of both the Plainfield Country Club and Manasquan River Golf Club, Brielle. As a resident of Bay Head, Don was very active in the Bay Head Chapel, serving in several Chapel Advisory positions. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Fairview Cemetery, Westfield for over 50 years.

Donald was predeceased by his wife of 30 years Marguerite Lynn (nee Schoel) MacDonald on November 5, 2010, his parents, his brother William P. MacDonald, and 2 sisters Lydia Brunner and Claire Styles.

He is survived by his devoted children and their spouses Douglas and Christine MacDonald of Granite Springs, NY and Julie and Barry Falterman of Red Bank, NJ and his 5 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service honoring Donald on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 12:00pm at the Bay Head Chapel, 442 Main Ave., Bay Head, NJ 08742.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Donald to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 666758516.
