Three finish FBI leadership program
Three members of the Pine Bluff Police Department, Capt. Jason Howard, Lt. DeShawn Bennett, and Lt. Jeremy Brown, successfully completed the Trilogy Leadership Series hosted by the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.
The week of Feb. 9, the officers finished the three part series that concluded with them graduating from FBI-LEEDA Executive Leadership Institute, where they received the Trilogy Award for completing the series.
In October, the three graduated from FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute and in November, they graduated from FBI-LEEDA Command Leadership Institute.
“Capt. Howard, Lt. Bennett, and Lt. Brown emerged from the program equipped with invaluable skills and insights to better serve and lead the great city of Pine Bluff,” according to a news release.
“The rigorous courses, tailored to empower law enforcement professionals with advanced leadership techniques and strategic decision-making abilities, challenged the trio to navigate complex scenarios and refine their leadership. From crisis management to community engagement strategies, the curriculum encompassed a comprehensive range of topics crucial for effective policing in today’s dynamic environment,” according to the release.
Bennett is also the police department’s public information officer.
“This experience has been truly enlightening,” Bennett said. “It’s not just about learning how to lead, but also about understanding the diverse needs and perspectives within our community.”
Brown echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of empathy and communication in fostering trust and collaboration.
Pine Bluff Police Chief Denise Richardson, who is also an FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Series graduate, recognized the significance of investing in professional development and commends the graduates for their dedication and perseverance.
“Our officers are the backbone of our department, and their commitment to continuous learning exemplifies our shared mission to serve and protect with integrity and excellence,” Richardson said.
