Four States Fair, Rodeo opens in April

- TEXARKANA GAZETTE

TEXARKANA — The 76th annual Four States Fair and Rodeo — which was postponed last fall due to the coronavirus pandemic — is returning in the spring.

The event is scheduled for April 2-11.

Last September’s fair was postponed to the spring because of the pandemic. Billed as “What a Ride,” the Four States Fair will include Wagner Carnival rides and games, plus annual favorites like the Four States Rodeo (April 8-10), 30th annual Demolition Derby (April 3) and AMMP Motor Sports Monster Truck Show (April 2).

Purchase of ticketed events also includes admission to the fair. Fair gates will open Monday through Friday at 5 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. Advanced gate admission tickets are now available at the website.

Last summer, Four States Fair president and chief executive officer Brent Talley explained the postponement was due to community health concerns.

The Four States Fair is a non-profit organization based on the Arkansas side of Texarkana.

Tickets and event information are available at FourStatesFair.com.

A vehicle break-in victim and Jacksonville Police tracked down a Conway man suspected of committing the break-in early Monday, according to an arrest report.

Officers responded to Golden Motors at 100 T.P. White Drive where the victim told police he was following a man who he saw break into his Chevrolet Silverado, the report said.

Daniel Miller, 45, was detained on the scene, and police saw damage to the fence of the property and the window of the Silverado, along with several stolen tools, according to the arrest report.

Miller was taken to the Pulaski County jail where he has no bail and is charged with felony breaking or entering and felony criminal mischief.
