EL DORADO — Maurice S. Camell,

87, died on July 7, 2020. He was born on September 2, 1932 to Jacob and Zahia Camell.

Maurice graduated from Norphlet High School in 1950.

He also attended Southern Arkansas University. In 1952, he was drafted into the Korean War where he served his country for two years and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. After his duty, he re-establishe­d his father’s retail business, Camell Trading Company, which he owned and operated. He later went on to establish his long and successful career in the insurance business alongside many other business ventures. Maurice was a long term member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Catherine Dianne Camell.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda Camell; three children, Marisa Ensminger (Randy), Reece Camell, Angela Wilkinson (Clay); four grandchild­ren, Jacob Camell, Zach Camell, Meryl Ensminger, Isabel Ensminger; three great-grandchild­ren; and two sisters, Janice Long, and Juanice Holloway.

Maurice lived his life as a very active man, much younger than his actual years. His favorite occasions were those spent with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors world of many types of hunting, golf, snooker, and outdoor entertaini­ng. He will be forever remembered and loved by his family.

Due to the Coronaviru­s, a private family graveside service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors with Father Edward D’Almeida officiatin­g.
