Professional politics

-

Over the last few weeks and really for the last three years I have watched and been amazed at the discord in Congress and the federal government, and have concluded that professional politicians are the cause of a lot of the problems. I am not talking about

Democrats or Republicans, but both. We started with part-time politicians who worked in the private sector; now we have people who have never worked in the private sector at all. If you have never had to struggle to make payroll, or wonder where your check is coming from or if the crop will make, how can you understand the struggle most everyday people are going through?

The financial crisis of 2008 was a product of a combination of professional politicians and corporate greed. The repeal of Glass-Steagall led to the financial meltdown, coupled with the left’s misguided desire for everyone, regardless of income, to own a home.

Now we have a problem that is no one’s fault. No one started this virus in this country, yet we the people are held captive by professional politicians more interested in their agendas than anything else. We don’t need more people dependent on big government. We should not be concerned with tax credits for solar panels, or the carbon footprint of the airlines. If we just keep on fighting between the parties, we will not have to worry; there won’t be any airlines. If you don’t save the companies, what jobs will people come back to? Will there be waste, fraud and abuse of any bailout plan? Yes, there always is, and this will be no different. We need the government to do its job. Nancy, Chuck, Mitch and Kevin need to get it together. Forget about their precious parties and work for the good of the country.

This reminds me of the story that Rome burned while Nero fiddled. Now it is Nancy and Chuck who seem to be the musicians.
