Saline County offers wide range of fun-filled events for all

Saline County offers a slew of festivals and events each year that not only provide fun for the whole family but bring a greater sense of community to the area. Whether people want to spend time outside cheering on their favorite high school football team at the Salt Bowl or spend the evening watching a show at the Royal Theatre, there is sure to be an event everyone can enjoy.

STEEL MAGNOLIAS AT THE ROYAL THEATRE June 9-16 • 7 p.m., 2 p.m. The Royal Theatre, Benton

The Royal Players of Benton will offer several nights of wonderful theater with a showcase of the beloved classic Steel Magnolias. The play will run June 9 and 13-16, with the curtain opening at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturdays and at 2 p.m. for the Sunday matinees. Once the curtain closes on Steel Magnolias, the Royal Theatre will show Young Players: Getting to Know Oklahoma in July and Disaster! in August. Benefiting Bauxite High School football, cheer and dance, the Friday Night Lights 5K will take place from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at the Bauxite High School football stadium, where the road race will begin and end. Presented by Saline Chiropract­ic Clinic, the Friday Night Lights 5K is a great opportunit­y for the Bauxite community to come together and enjoy a night of fun and support Bauxite High School.

20TH ANNUAL TASTE OF BRYANT 2019 Tuesday, Aug. 6 • 5:30-7:30 p.m. Bishop Park, Bryant

The 20th Annual Taste of Bryant will return from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, with a full evening of food and fun. Expected to have over 30 food vendors, Taste of Bryant will showcase the delicious food that area restaurate­urs have to offer. SALT BOWL 2019 Friday, Aug. 30 • 7 p.m. War Memorial Stadium, Little Rock

Saline County’s biggest rivalry will go headto-head at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at this year’s Salt Bowl between the Benton and Bryant football teams. Known as one of Arkansas’ largest high school football games, 2019 will be the 45th year the two rivals have played one another. The Salt Bowl will be held at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium for a highly anticipate­d night of excitement under the Friday-night lights.
