Little Rock police and special traffic patrolmen were not to be left out in recognizing “Razorback Day” in the Capitol City today as part of the occasion honoring Arkansas’ football team. These patrolmen, who will be directing traffic for the game at War Memorial Stadium tonight, will wear arm bands welcoming out- of- towners. There was no doubt about the idea of the bands being in recognition of the nation’s No. 1 football team.

More than 6,000 Arkansans marched down Capitol Avenue to the state Capitol on Monday in an effort to increase awareness of the dangers of drugs, and promote educational efforts to teach students to “Just Say No.” The Red Ribbon Campaign is a week of activities throughout the state and nation aimed at increasing awareness for a drug- free America. MAGNOLIA — A leak in a Lion Oil Company pipeline has poured more than 500 gallons of oil onto property on the south side of Magnolia, but officials said it posed no environmental harm. John Warren, vice president of operations for the El Dorado- based company, said temporary repairs were made and cleanup was expected to be finished Saturday. He said permanent repairs will be made. “As far as we know there are no environmental dangers,” he said. The leak, reported Wednesday, occurred in lines transporting oil into Lion Oil lines from other areas. The Environmental Protection Agency and the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality were notified.
