Simpson of Jacksonville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple were married Oct. 7, 1955. She is the former Betty Mathews. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and the Postal Service. They are the parents of Merodith H. Simpson Jr. of Jacksonville, Mark A. Simpson of Sherwood, Daniel J. Simpson of Tempe, Ariz., and the late Michael O. Simpson. The couple have six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Barbara and Don Soden of Maumelle will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a family reunion early next year. The couple were married Oct. 2, 1965. Darrell Short celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 26 at El Paso Community Center. The couple were married Sept. 30, 1965. She is the former Reba Smith and a factory worker. He is employed in construction. They are the parents of Dwayne Short and Diane St. John. The couple have one grandchild.

and Marshall Hatfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren. The couple were married Sept. 26, 1965. She is the former Joyce Jones and a retired Realtor. He is a district civil engineer with the Arkansas Department of Health. They are the parents of Kyle Hatfield and Amanda Smith, both of Little Rock. The couple have four grandchildren.

and James Floyd celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 20 with a reception at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and on Saturday by renewing their vows at Toler Chapel in Sheridan. The couple were married Sept. 21, 1965. She is the former Minnie Watson and is employed as a caregiver. He is retired from Alltel. They are the parents of James C. Ed Buford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mediterranean cruise. The couple were married Aug. 14, 1965. She is a retired administrative assistant in the Science/Engineering Library at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He retired as assistant vice president and claims manager with U.S. Aviation Underwriters Inc. in Dallas. They are the parents of Robyn Shapiro of Richardson, Texas; Rick Buford of Midlothian, Texas; and Randi Eiland of Dallas. The couple have six grandchildren.
