UAMS researchers seek mothers-to-be
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking pregnant women for a nutrition research study.
Researchers at the academic medical center’s Children’s Nutrition Center are studying how the health and physical activity of a pregnant woman could affect her child’s growth and development. Expectant moms who are less than 12 weeks pregnant are eligible to take part in the study. Participants will also be compensated.
The participating women will be randomly placed in one of two study groups, one of which will require exercise three days a week during pregnancy. All participants will need to attend three research visits during pregnancy as well.
The second part of the study will be about two weeks after the women have given birth. Participants will visit five times by the child’s second birthday. In the second portion, the center’s researchers will evaluate the child’s growth, development, physical activity, blood and urine.
police later found the plastic bag, but tools were missing, the report said.
Hotel employees later found a cellphone in the parking lot that belonged to Joey Morgan, 29. Morgan was arrested Friday and transported to the Pulaski County jail.
“While in transport, Morgan spontaneously uttered that he was very drunk and don’t remember what he did last night,” the arrest report said. “Morgan then stated he thought the truck that he had stolen from was his.”
Morgan was booked into the jail on charges of breaking or entering, theft of property, furnishing, possessing, prohibited articles and possession of a controlled substance. He remained on the jail’s roster Saturday night.
