Heights home offers vintage appeal
Built in 1940, this one-of-a-kind Tudor-style home saw a remodel in 2000 that created a new kitchen and added an additional 1,200 square feet to the now four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home that encompasses 2.5 lots in Little Rock’s Heights neighborhood.
Beautiful architectural details such as arched doorways, exposed brick walls, an arched ceiling, and vintage tile and hardwood floors and trim, along with exterior amenities such as a large private backyard, a vine-covered pergola, a mossy brick patio area and a stone walkway, give this home a classic allure.
The foyer area features earth-tone tile, a chandelier, and white crown molding and foot trim, as well as an alcove with a diamond-paned window. In the formal living room, there are built-in bookcases, a large fireplace, built-in armoire-style closets and a wet bar.
In the family room, there is a second fireplace accented by tile surroundings and a wood mantel. The open-feel family room is connected to the updated kitchen, which includes a separate breakfast nook and a larger eating area, in addition to a large pantry, a built-in desk and a central island. The kitchen countertops feature beautiful, durable concrete, and ample shelving maximizes storage space.
The home’s remodel included the addition of a second-floor master retreat that features a gas fireplace, as well as built-in shelves and cabinetry. The walkthrough double closet is located between the bedroom and the master bathroom, which includes a vanity between double sinks, and a separate tub and shower. The master suite also provides access to a private upstairs deck.
Three other bedrooms are situated on the lower level, one of which has an en-suite bathroom. Another bedroom is somewhat distanced from the rest of the home and features its own bathroom.
